I love using this cleanser nightly because the lemon juice acts as a disinfect for your pores and prevents acne as well as clears up existing spots. As if that weren’t enough, this citrus goes a step further and helps to brighten your complexion immediately! As far as the coconut oil goes, well, we already know my obsession with facial oils… Coconut oil on the skin feels luxurious and moisturizing. My face hasn’t had to deal with that itchy, winter dryness at all this season, all thanks to this magical goodness in a jar.
You will need:
- a bowl
- a spoon
- 1 T raw, unrefined, cold-pressed coconut oil
- 1/2 organic lemon
- your beautiful face
Let’s Get Started!
Step 1: Melt your coconut oil, or just mash it with your spoon, depending on the consistency you want for your facial cleanser.
Step 2: Squeeze the juice out of half a lemon into the coconut oil.
Step 3: Stir thoroughly and you’re ready to go! That was fast! Rub it onto your face in slow circles, and be careful not to go too close to your eyes – citrus can sting! Once you’re done, you might want to wipe the oil off with the help of a nubbly face cloth, as water repels oil so splashing your face just won’t do the job.
Together, lemon juice and coconut oil work to keep my complexion clear, bright, soft and even-toned. All of that from a two-ingredient cleanser with no toxic chemicals, no parabens, no sulfates and no artificial fragrance?! Mother Nature, you’ve done it again!
Should I prepare this every night or can I make enough to last me a few days??
Hi Loremi! You can make this in advanced if you’d like to save time, however I’d advise on making it fresh each night if at all possible. Coconut oil solidifies at room temperature or colder, so you’ll have to reheat the mixture when ready to cleanse your face with it –unless it’s really warm where you live! 🙂
Thanks,
Abby
