Put away your climbing gear, everyone! Despite its name, there is no need to ascend Mount Everest to reap the beneﬁts of Himalayan Pink Salt.
When I ﬁrst saw this light pink salt at Whole Foods, I immediately whipped out my phone to Google its beneﬁts. It was explained as being the “purest form of sea salt.” I had been wanting to start a salt-water face wash regime to combat a random re-surge of acne I’d been experiencing. I ﬁgured that better than using the standard, over-processed, potentially toxic table salt, I could use a more natural form of salt and reap better results. I didn’t know then just how right I was!
First of all, my acne dramatically cleared up after just two weeks of once a day Himalayan Pink Salt cleanses. I poured just a tablespoon or two into a cup and ﬁlled the cup about an inch high with warm water. I then dipped a cotton ball into the cup to soak up some salt water as well as grab a few actual salt crystals. I gently rubbed these
crystals on my face while also spreading the salt water around -focusing mainly on my oily T-zone. I let my face air-dry, and once it had, it felt a little tight and grainy from the leftover salt sitting on my skin. As odd as this felt, I went to sleep with the salt still on my face and woke up and washed my face as normal. My acne dried up and I felt my pores were less noticeable and I had fewer blackheads. Needless to say, I will be praying to the Himalayan salt-Gods for a long time.
